I’ve noticed changes in my animal companion’s behavior, mobility, or health. How do I know if my pet is suffering?

Our pets express and communicate their pain or illness in various ways. When we meet for our initial consultation, I will have you tell me about your pet’s “normal” routine and activity level. With the Quality of Life and/or Pain Assessments we will be able to document changes, and severity of changes. This will be a guide to then navigate pain management, a visit with your Veterinarian, or other decisions.

How will I know when it is time to say goodbye?

Knowing when it is time to say goodbye is a difficult decision. Making this decision from a place of love & kindness can aid in the decision making. Evaluating your pet’s current overall well being can provide us with some answers to this question. Our goal is to relieve suffering and ensure quality daily life. When our pet can no longer have quality of life or relief of suffering, we consider the kindness of humane euthanasia. The word Euthanasia means, “Good Death”. Ensuring dignity in their final days is love.

Can I have you come to my home for at-home euthanasia?

Humane euthanasia can only be provided by a licensed Veterinarian. I am able to connect you with an at-home provider upon request. Though I am not licensed to provide this specific service, I can be present with you for support at the time of the goodbye.

I need medication for my companion animal, can you provide this?

Medications provide relief, suppress symptoms, help with appetite, and many other wonderful functions during our pet’s life. Medications can only be prescribed by a licensed Veterinarian. I am able to connect you with a Veterinarian upon request. If you have been prescribed medication and need assistance in learning how to administer it, or assistance with medicating, please contact me.

I don’t have someone to be with me at the time of goodbye, can you be there with me?

Yes, I am happy to be a support & comfort during this time.

I need help sorting, cleaning, and donating my animal companion’s belongings after I say goodbye, can you assist me with this?

Yes, I am happy to assist in this part of the aftercare process. It can be difficult to sort through belongings and make decisions with them. I am to assist with sorting, cleaning, donating, or preserving your animal companion’s belongings.

Time has gone by since saying goodbye to my companion animal, but I am still grieving. Can you still assist me?

There is no set time frame for your mourning & grief. I am available to assist you in your grief no matter how much time has passed since you said goodbye to your beloved companion.

My family members are not in agreement with our companion animal’s bereavement plan, can you assist us?

Yes, I am able to be a non-biased person to assist with some types of mediation and family discussion. The goal is effective communication between all persons. We can work together to ensure everyone is heard, questions are answered, explanations provided, and a common place is found. I ask for respect and kindness during this time, keeping in mind that our priority is your beloved companion.

I would like a ceremony or ritual that is based in a specific belief or tradition, can you assist me?

Upholding specific cultural traditions, beliefs, or spiritual practices surrounding death is important to our bereavement process and honoring our beloved companion. I work as a facilitator to ensure your ritual or ceremony wishes provide meaningful remembrance in a safe space, to honor your beautiful bond.

What form of payment is accepted for service?

I am able to accept Venmo, Cash, Credit Card, or Check

What is your cancellation policy?

Please provide 24hrs. notice of cancellation.

I live outside of your city/state, can you still assist me?

A virtual visit may be scheduled for Grief and Bereavement Support, or specific assistance such as understanding aftercare options. Travel outside of my city/state may be possible with additional travel cost. Please contact me with your specific location and service request.
